Amoxicillin Powder -Description

Amoxicillin, one of the most commonly used semi-synthetic penicillin broad-spectrum β-lactam antibiotics, is a white powder with a half-life of about 61.3 minutes. It is stable under acidic conditions and has a 90% absorption rate in the gastrointestinal tract. Amoxicillin has strong bactericidal effect and strong ability to penetrate cell membranes. It is one of the more widely used oral semi-synthetic penicillins, and its preparations include capsules, tablets, granules, dispersible tablets, etc. Nowadays, it is often used in combination with clavulanic acid to make dispersible tablets.

Amoxicillin Powder -Indications

Amoxicillin Powder -Contra indications

Hypersensitivity to amoxicillion.

Amoxicillin Powder -Dosage

For oral administration:

Calves, goats and sheep:
Twice daily 5 g per 100 kg body weight for 3 - 5 days.

Poultry and swine:
1 kg per 1000 - 2000 litres of drinking water for 3 - 5 days.

Note: for pre-ruminant calves, lambs and kids only.

Amoxicillin Powder -Withdrawal times

- For meat:
Calves, goats, sheep and swine : 8 days.
Poultry : 3 days.
